  • SURVEY SAYS . . . . . .

HELL YEAH I flushed the toilet!  I should have done what some of you suggested and made some loud “bathroom” sounds before flushing!

I’m borrowing this from Pat’s site (she found it on Newsweek):

“If I had a friend with five kids, including a newborn with Down syndrome and an unmarried, pregnant teen, plus a demanding job and legal problems, I wouldn’t ask her to so much as bring cookies to a PTA meeting!  What was John McCain thinking when he asked Sarah Palin to take on the responsibility of being one heartbeat away from the presidency?  I am a feminist and all for breaking glass ceilings, but not at the expense of the family.  A parent who stands for family values has to be responsible to this sacred duty first and to career and ambitions later.  Your article (“McCain’s Mrs. Right,” Sept. 8) says Palin “seems to enjoy that role of strung-out supermom.”  I don’t feel safe with that characteristic in someone serving as the vice president of my country.”

  • There are a LOT of places that conversations on phones are out of place. Of course, the restroom probably tops them all. (Heck, I’d probably wind up dropping the phone in the toilet anyway!)

  • I’m glad we can continue to post to one another without agreeing on a major issue. Are you and your friend keeping up with the Christian and non big media web sites concerning both candidates and their platforms? This is the scariest election I have ever been through in my 64 years. So much more is at stake here than meets the eye on the surface. I continue to tell myself that no matter what the outcome, God is in control and that His plan will reign on earth. Whether it is the total breakdown of the USA at this point in time or what it will be in His plan for us.

  • Last time I looked I thought Obama had kids. I don’t understand why having kids or even kids with issues would cause difficulty with a person doing their job. And think, having kids with these types of issues makes her more aware of these problems in family units and maybe having first hand experience can help her make changes. But that’s just my opinion.

  • I’m with Lupton on this one. Men have children, a wife, pets, yards, demanding jobs and they manage to be there for everyone, so can a woman. I wish the world would begin viewing all people who are capable of multi-tasking as people who are capable of multi-tasking. And besides, some people need to be constantly moving and using their brains to their fullest.

I don’t know if I support any of the people who are running in this next election, but I do support the freedom of a person, male or female, who chooses to work and raise a family. Besides, it takes a village to raise a child, not just a mom. And some moms suck anyway and they don’t have a job.

And I support your freedom to choose how you feel about this matter. And I’m glad you posted this today, because it gave me some good food for thought. And I love you, so there!

How’s your new man doing? Does he have the complete run of the house yet? (The answer is YES!)

  • I don’t care about Mrs. Palin’s family issues.  Whether or not she wants to work is beside the point because you know she will have lots of help.

What bothers me about her is the fact that she has radical ideas that I do not agree with at all.

Oh, and to the poster who made the remark about Obama’s kids?  Just stop.  Everyone knows full well that that it is the mothers (women) who are, for the most part, the primary caregivers for the children.  Yes, there are examples of men who do the child-rearing, but those are few and far between.

  • I agree with most of the above. Men have kids. Women can do the same as men. Jobs, home, family …..you can have it all. I’m sure she has lots of help.

  • Boy don’t get me going-   I agree with sissy- Obama  has kids- why isn’t this conversation happening about him?

Obama scares me to death and they keep calling his the Messiah-  folks that should scare you!

  • If Obama or Biden had 5 kids, 1 being a pregnant teenager, and one having Downs, I would ask all the same questions that this article is asking of Palin.  I don’t care if she is “Super Mom” or not, family comes first.  That does not mean I think she should not work, but being the Vice President of the United States is not exactly your typical job….

  • The thought of Obama as Pres is scary enough. I pray every day that folks will think at the polls and not vote this self absorbed politician into the highest office in our country.

    frightening!

  • What he was thinking was “if I get this beautiful, homey, white woman to be my running mate, I will get the vote of all the white women who were concerned about me cheating on my ex-wife, and every man who’s afraid of the black man being president.”  Not too dumb of a move.
