Hello Friends! I now have a new little man in my life! His name is Charlie Brown!
Here is his life story:
Charlie was born on January 28, 2008. He is a Maltipoo (Maltese/Poodle). He was purchased (for $600!!!!) by my coworker Jason and his family. Jason also has a human baby that was born in November of last year. Jason's wife wanted a little lap dog and they thought Charlie would be perfect. They named him "Brownie".
BUT.......they had NO idea how involved they were to be with a little puppy AND a human baby at home. So a few weeks after adopting "Brownie", Jason started telling me that they really couldn't handle the little man. He was requiring a lot of attention and they just didn't have it to give to him with having two other human children along with the newborn. So Jason started asking me if I wanted him. I have always wanted a third child but finding out that Mandy had cancer in April, I just didn't think it was fair that I took this little man into my life. Also, Mandy should have been in a one dog only family as she was very jealous of any attention I would give to Chili and Johnny R.
When I wrote the the e-mail telling everyone about my little girl's passing, I also sent the e-mail to Jason. So, one week after Mandy was gone, Jason called me. (Jason is on baby bonding leave right now). He asked me again if I wanted Charlie. I told him that there was NO WAY I would pay him $600 for a dog (I would adopt!!!) but he told me he wouldn't expect it and that he would rather give me a good deal. He knew that I would take good care of the little man as I am a poodle (and dog) lover and convinced his wife of this as well.
SO, on Sunday Debbie and I went to Jason's house to take a look at the little man. (Debbie, Sue, Pierce and I had previously met "Brownie" a couple of months ago when we ran into Jason at Starbucks and he invited us over to meet the little guy). OMG! After seeing "Brownie", it was over. HE WAS MINE! I was not going to leave him at Jason's house, I was taking him home with me!
Jason suggested Charlie Brown so he still had the "Brown" in his name!
Charlie gets along SO good with Johnny Rotten. They cannot get enough of each other! Chili, on the other hand puts Charlie in his place. Charlie wants to play with him but he wants NOTHING of this spunky little man. AND, Charlie is a lover! I had to wipe my glasses SO many times on Sunday when we were at Jason's house because he wouldn't stop kissing me.
I told Jason when I adopted Mandy, I paid $275 for her. Since she was a special needs dog, they had to put out a lot of money for her dental work, etc. He wanted to give me a better deal so I "only" paid $200 for the little man. That was a heck of a deal!
Debbie and I brought Charlie to Macy's (in a purse that I bought just for him) and he was a good boy, not even growling at one person! I brought him to Debbie's house for a BBQ that afternoon so everyone could meet him. Below are the photos from the day, including family fun and Charlie loving!!!
Believe me, I am NOT "over" the death of my little girl, I miss her so much. But I do have enough love in my heart for more furry children. If I had anymore, I would have to be a "stay-at-home" mother! So now I have three children, two here and one in heaven.
Here is Charlie on his first day in my family:
I don't have any photos of Chili and Charlie yet as Chili does not like having his photo taken and whenever I pull out my camera, he runs away from me. He is afraid of the flash.
The next photo is my niece Wendy's husband Jose. Last month he became a citizen of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA! Woot Woot! We were on vacation when he was sworn in so we weren't able to go. Below Jose is modeling his USA t-shirt that I bought for him and his citizenship certificate:
Here are Jose, Wendy, Jessica and:
That would be it for the photos! I hope you are all doing well and have a wonderful weekend!

he's really cute! congrats mama
Great photos and that Charlie Brown is adorable.
Have a great week end.
Believe me, you'll always have a special place in your heart for you little Mandy. Always. However, I'm so happy that you were given this wonderful opportunity to take Charlie Brown into your home and heart. He has the coloring that I love, especially when the eyes and nose match the fur. He looks very intelligent, as I know from first hand experience, that poodles are. He's lucky you have him. I'm positive he's totally spoiled already!! One clue is all the pics you've taken of him already. Starting yet another 'baby' album Janice?

I love you. Be happy!!
Congrats on the new baby. He is adorable.
Ahhhh what a wonderful story- I sat here and cried reading it. I know you miss Mandi and I do too- but you are so correct. There is plenty of love in your heart for more. I love you- you are the greatest person!!!!
Gosh, you are totally out numbered. Isn't the testosterone level in your house about reaching the roof top!!! Know you will enjoy your new addition. How big will he get?
Oh he is so darn cute! Aren't you the lucky one. And the pictures tell of his love and what a good dog he is. My heart is just smiling for you.
HURRAY FOR JOSE!!!!!!!
