  • HOME SWEET HOME

HOWDY HO FOLKS, I'M HOME!!  --  Finally!!!

Whew, what a trip it was!

    Vacation Highlights:

    • We reunited with family and friends

    • We saw the beautiful states of Tennessee and Arkansas (besides the states that we have already been through:  Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma and eww...Texas)

    • Made new friends at the conference in Nashville

    • Found out where my "boyfriend" Trace Adkins lives!

    • Spent lots of money on souveniers and jewelry (yeah!)

    • Made new memories with my sis Debbie and brother-in-law Robin

    • Visited our sister Nini in Texas.  Nini took us to one of her favorite bargain shopping store (clearance rack at Dillards) which Debbie and I found another Dillards in Arizona!  SCORE!

    • Took a ton of photos.  AS if that was a surprise!

    • Found out that next years Compassionate Friends conference will be on the WEST COAST in Portland, Oregon!  Which is only 10 hours and 22 minutes away from my home.  Driving, of course.

I was very nervous to come home and to see what shape Mandy was in.  My friend Denise had been coming to my house to check on my children and she did keep me updated as to how they were doing.  She did say that when she would pick Mandy up she could tell that the tumors were growing.  SO, when I got home on Friday night the first thing I did was pick up Mandy and cry.  The tumors are indeed getting quite large.  But it is amazing that Mandy is doing well.  Eating and taking care of business thankfully.

Then only thing I did yesterday was RELAX!  Well, I did have to go to my 30th (YIKES) high school reunion last night.  Denise and I went together and had a good time.  The last reunion went to was 10 years ago so it was nice to see some our former classmates.  We didn't have too good of a showing though as we graduated with about 300 people and only 80 showed up.

I've got to go to work tomorrow and I can only imagine how many e-mails I'll have after being gone for 11.5 work days!  Thank God Monday's are kind of quiet.

Tomorrow is my friend Denise's birthday......

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY DENISE!!

I will stop by to visit all of you tomorrow and I'll post my vacation posts sometime this week.  You all have a Happy Monday and be sure to hug your families!

  • Welcome home sweetie!!!  You were certainly missed around here!!  Gosh, I am SO sorry to hear about your sweet Mandy...that makes me so sad.  You are the best Mommy ever to your wittle girl.  I hope you have a great Monday....the first day back is always the hardest. xo

  • Welcome back.  I look forward to your pictures.  I've been to the beautiful state of TN many times but just briefly through Arkansas...I'm writing now about our trip to CA..

I know just how devastating it is to know that little Mandy has these tumors.  May she live a long and pain-free life ...as long as possible but no matter how long, it still hurts when you have to say goodbye.  Just wish they could stay healthy and live ...forever...as long as we do anyway.

    HUGS

  • Looking forward to hearing about and seeing your trip. Glad it was a safe one.

  • So glad you are home safe and that you had such a good time. Missed you while you were gone!  Hugs !

  • Welcome home. I missed ya'.

Wow, now that was packed itinerary vacation. Now you have a wonderful time and it's back to the grind.

Poor Mandy! I bet they were so glad to see their Mom.

    Have a great Monday!

  • I'm glad you had a good time and are home safe and sound!  I'm sure your furry children are so glad to have their mommy home.  Hugs on the Mandy situation.  That must continue to be so hard.......

  • Glad you are home, safe and sound. I didn't know you liked Trace Atkins! YOU should have come to the CMT concert with the girls and I last year. We sat about 10 rows from the stage. He told people they could come up front. I stayed in my seat with all our "stuff" and the girls went up. He leaned over and shook both girls' hands. I thought Kate would pass out! LOL. He has an awesome voice and I was so moved when he sang "Arlington".

  • It's about time you got your arse back home!!! The least you could have done is scrounge up a computer somewhere and updated once in a while!!! hahahaha..juuust kidding. I can see by your travelogue that you probably just had time to go potty!! heeeeheee...but seriously Janice, I'm glad your back safe and sound.
I'm sure you have lots of goodies to pass out to all the little ones too!!

Mandy is a sweet thing. I bet she and Chiliman missed you bad. I know you missed them too!! I know they're much happier that their mommy is home spoiling them!!!

    Love ya girl.

  • Yes, my oldest daughter has two adorable boys. This whole divorce thing just makes me so sad.

  • I use my name, Christy, when I contact our members, so it wouldn't have been me who talked with you. I understand that health care plans all over the country are beginning to contact members who have ongoing health concerns. I love it. I've met the most wonderful people on the phone.

Take care. Thanks for stopping by!
