  • Howdy Ho Folks!

It's that time again......time for my weekly Xanga entry!

Can I get a woot woot.......tomorrow is FRIDAY!  Two weeks from TODAY I will be on my way to TENNESSEE!!  I just hope Elvis keeps the light on for me!  Debbie, my bro-in-law Robin and I will start out our vacation in New Mexico.  Our final destination will be Nashville.  We will be attending the annual Compassionate Friends Conference.  I'm really looking forward to seeing people that we met last year and also, finding out where NEXT years conference will be. They announce that on the last day of the conference.  I'm such a planner, I can't wait to find out where it will be in 2009!  I truly hope it's on the WEST coast next year.

Most of you know that I don't fly - we will be driving to TN.  Since gas is SO expensive these days, I have put a Paypal button on my Xanga site to ask my Xanga friends for donations for our trip.  OK, I'm kidding on that one (the Paypal icon doesn't work!) but dayum, it's going to cost us an arm and a leg to pay for gasoline for this trip!

Onto a really serious subject.  In my last entry I mentioned that I found more tumors on my little pooch Mandy.  I brought her to the Vet and he in fact found THREE more tumors (in addition to the 3 that I had found) on my little girl.  He told me to take her home and make her comfortable.  It's so damn heartbreaking.  While I'm on vacation my friend Denise will come over every day to check on my babies.  Even though my brother will be here with them, I will feel better knowing Denise will be checking on them too.

I had to bring my little man to the vet last week also.  He has an owee on his back left paw.  It's called a "Lick Granuloma".  (It is a
raised, usually ulcerated area on a dog's wrist or ankle area caused by the dog's own incessant licking.)  Click here to read more.

Tomorrow is my nephew Matthew's 5th Birthday!  We will celebrate on Saturday.  PAARRRTY!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATTHEW!

Time to hit the sack.......I hope you all have a great weekend and as always, be sure to hug your families!

  • It's About Time

For a proper entry.  Don't you agree?

I'm been doing alright up until about 5 minutes ago.  My little girl Mandy has recuperated well from her surgery.  In fact, I had Mandy and Chili groomed on Saturday.  But, I was just holding Mandy and I fear that I have found another tumor on her.  <sigh>  NOW WHAT DO I DO?  This is so heartbreaking.

Onto other things.....on Friday night there were some fires going on in the area.  When I left to run an errand on Friday evening I was SHOCKED to see the skies full of smoke.  The sun was gone, I swear I thought the world was coming to an end!  Check this video out:

The sun was such a bright orange color too.  It was WEIRD!

Here were my activities on Saturday:

    • WW meeting at 6:30am

    • Went home to pick up my babies to bring them to the groomers

    • Back to my house to pick up Sue

    • Donut shop for a bagel

    • Picked up Jessica so she could hang out with Sue and I for the day and then spend the night

    • Garage sales galore!  That was until Jessica pooped out!

    • Back to Jessica's house to drop off a KICK A$$ bargain that I bought for Matthew:  A Rescue Heroes Firestation for $12.00!!  Pierce and Peyton are playing with it below:

    • Grocery store to pick up a few items

    • Ross

    • Lunch

    • Payless Shoe Source

    • Picked up my babies from the groomers

    • Back to my house to drop Sue off and change so Jessica and I could go to a my Goddaughter Nazzy's graduation party.

Mind you, this was all before 2:00pm!!

Here are Nazzy, Jessica and I:

I LOVED the bike - it is so retro!

After the party Jessica and I went back to my house and played with the $2.00 Connect Four (BRAND new mind you) game that we picked up earlier in the day.  At 8:00pm we headed out the door AGAIN to go see Jenny and Chris do a march at a Portuguese club.  It was so cool to watch the young people do the march and embrace their culture.

Here are Jenny and Chris after the march:

The next morning Jessica and I went to Mass and then to her house for a Housewarming Party/Father's Day breakfast.  Sue and I went to Walmart after breakfast and guess what I did when I got home.  If you guessed that I took a long nap, then you were right!  Dinner was at Denise's house and that was my weekend.

My tattoo is healing quite nicely.  I like how the crucifix peeks out below the sleeve of my shirt:

OK, time to get back to loving and hugging my little girl.  I hope you are all doing well.  Be sure to hug your families.

  • Oops, I did it again!

YES, I DID!  "THEY" say that tattoos are addicting.  I said that I would never get another one again.

    Well........."THEY" were right:

The rosary is for my mother.  The idea came to me on Mother's Day when I was really having a bad day missing my mother.  Mom would pray the rosary everyday after my father passed away up until 3 days before she passed.

I was following a VW bug yesterday after getting the tattoo and the license plate had "ADA" on it and I believe it was a sign from my mother saying that she liked the tat.  In case you didn't know, Mom's name was Ada.  So there ya go!

Now onto designing my NEXT tattoo.  Never say never, right??

I hope you all are doing well.  I've been absent, kind of down and out.  Mandy's pathology report came back from the last tumor the vet removed and now my little girl has another kind of cancer.  Some type of sarcoma.  I'm taking Mandy to the vet after work today for a check up and I'll get more info then.  Breaks my heart as I love that little girl so much and she had a rough 1st part of her life.  I can't think about that, I've got to think of the positive and the life that she has had with me.  <sigh>

Last, but not least........Here is a photo of Taylor that Kathryn took that I JUST LOVE:

    Taylor I Love You

OK, onto work stuff.  You all have a wonderful day and be sure to hug your families, human and furry.
