HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY!
My nephew Shane is here from Wisconsin! YEAH!! He just got a new job and will start it next week so he decided to come out to SJ to visit with family and friends before he begins the new job.
Scuse my absence people. I have no idea what has happened and where I have been. I think I was abducted by aliens.
I can't believe that it's been over one week that I have done a proper entry. DOH!
Last Saturday our family got together at Debbie's house to visit with her former foreign exchange student Kenichi from Japan. The last time we saw him was in 2002 when my mother was terminally ill. He got to see her before she passed away, thankfully. He really liked and respected my mother. Anyway, he finished college in Australia and decided to visit friends here in the U.S. before he has to join the real world and start working.
Kenichi originally lived with my brother Richard and his family before he lived with Debbie. My brother was going through marital problems so Debbie offered her home to Kenichi so he could finish out the school year and not have to go back to Japan. Here are Christopher and Kenichi when he first moved into Debbie's house (taken in 2000):
Kenichi could not BELIEVE how big my nephews Nick and Jon had gotten since the last time he saw them. I wish I had a before/after photo to show you - Unfortunately I just have the pic from Saturday:
Here are Sue and Kenichi (Kenichi asked if Sue was still crazy. Psst...yes, she is!):
Kenichi with my niece Wendy and her family:
Kenichi's American parents Debbie & Robin:
My brother Richard and his family (my brother David is on the right):
Kenichi, Pierce and I (Kenichi was going to school here when Pierce was born. Pierce was the first baby Kenichi ever held. He said on Sunday that at this time he is the ONLY baby that he has ever held!):
Breakfast on Sunday morning - Saying goodbye to Kenichi:
On Sunday afternoon I became a Godmother to Giada (Sue's grandbaby), so now Sue and I are officially related!! Remember, she claims to be my mother's daughter and her favorite! I was so honored when Kari (Giada's mama) asked me to be her daughter's Godmother. When I told my nephew/Godson Jon that he was going to have a new Godsister on Sunday he said, "ANOTHER ONE"?! Yep, I'll take as many as I can get!!
Here is Giada:
OK, maybe I'm partial but is she the cutest thing in the world or what?! Heh heh.......
I started writing this early this morning and it is now 8:30 p.m. and I haven't finished it yet. I am babysitting Abbie and Emily right now. Their mama is in the hospital having a hysterectomy and she will be home tomorrow. Her husband Paul starts his radiation on Monday. Hopefully Dora will heal without any problems.
Right after Dora and her husband left for the hospital I took the girls shopping. I bought them matching dresses:
Survivor is on, I must catch up with what is going on. You all have a GREAT weekend!! On Saturday Sue and I are going to garage sales in a citywide sale that is going on. Sunday is a get together with Shane. YEAH!!
Ciao for now!

I'm glad Shane is there.
You have the most beautiful family. I always enjoy the pictures.
Have a great week end going to those garage sales. As for me, I'm getting rid of stuff.
I'm glad you came back! I too have been on a Xanga "vacation." Maybe we were abducted by the same aliens?
Glad you had a good time with the reunions. Will Kenichi go back to Japan or is he staying in the states. Congrats on becoming a Godmother!
I so enjoyed this post. Don't stay away so long. I'm going to try to get a post on soon. I went a whole day without touching the computer....of course I was gone 12 hrs. lol
Girl, I have been SWAMPED! I am typing this while I wait for Katie (after work). Giada looks a lot like Sue (don't you think? I could see a resemblance anyway!)
You guys have been almost as busy as we have been. I would post a few pics of the wedding but I don't have many. I had such a great time that I forgot to take pics!
Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your time with Shane!!! (((HUGS)))!
Can you believe that Ozzie got voted off of survivor???? Wow
I love seeing pictures of your family. Reminds me so much of my family. Yep that baby girl is a doll!!
Have a good weekend!
Kenichi is cute. Looks like everyone got taller except him. heehee...How good of Debi to take him in back then, so he could complete his schooling. I have NO DOUBT that he has plenty of wonderful memories from knowing your family.
Awwww...little pink cheeked Giada...how adorable she is. I see someone else is going to get spoiled rotten by their new godmother. Congrations Janice, for receiving that wonderful honor. Giada is a very lucky little girl.
Yep, you went shopping and dolled up the girls. You just can't help yourself, can you?
You and Debi have the same smile.
Wonderful pictures! It's so neat that your family housed an exchange student. We always wanted to when my sister and I were in high school, but we never could. Too bad, now we just travel around the world on our own!
)
Also, thanks so much for coming by and offering your congratulations. I really appreciate the gesture!
Wonderful family pictures. You can tell how family oriented you are and it warms my heart. Family is forever, other things come and go.
I hope you had a great time at garage sales. I wish my daughters or Sis was around so we could do that.
Survivor! I can't miss it!
Shane left here just when the weather is starting to improve!!
Kenichi doesn't seem to have changed much in those years. I can imagine how happy he was to see all of you----and you, him.
What a cutie goddaughter! Love those chunky cheeks. Just want to pinch them!!
Great pictures .. your nephews are super hot!
Howdy there! I hope all is well with you and yours. Take care!
Hey Sweet Lady, where ya been? Been missin' ya!
Just stopping in to say hi.
How nice! We had an exchange student from Thailand for 4 years and still keep in contact. Hope you are doing well.
Just checking in. I hope all is well with you and your furry children. Take care!
How cool to see your family's foreign exchange student again! Hopefully, you will be able to stay in touch with him throughout his lifetime.
